ABOUT MY BEAUTIFUL PLASTIC BRAIN
Movement Coaching & Natural Fitness
Movement is the language of the brain. Our brains need movement to develop and reach higher levels of functioning. All too often, movement is the missing nutrient in our life.
In my work, I combine two unique approaches to harness the incredible power of movement.
NeuroMovement® relies on the power of subtle and gentle movement to create opportunities for new differentiation and, thus, new neuronal connections.
MovNat® is a movement system that allows your body to move in the way nature designed it to.
Let me help you to unleash the power of your beautiful plastic brain!
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
My Plastic Brain
At one point, it hit me: The one passion that has been a constant in my life is learning new skills.
I was born and raised in South Germany, where I naturally grew up playing soccer. But my two big passions were practicing and teaching Shotokan Karate and skiing. After a brief career in German academia - I received my Ph.D. in Russian History from Humboldt University, Berlin (Germany), where I also landed my first academic job - I moved in 2009 to Davis, CA.
In California, I competed as a hobby triathlete, picked up Karate again, and, more recently dabbled in BJJ, Boxing, and took some beginner's Ballet lessons. I am training to become a member of the Yolo County Search and Rescue Team. My latest passion is Natural Parkour.
I trained with Anat Baniel in San Rafael from 2013 on and graduated Basic Training in 2015. I continued my education and am trained to work with Children with Special Needs, the Aging Population, and High Performers such as artists and athletes.
In 2021 I received my L2 MovNat certification, and I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I am also FMS1 certified and I am currently working on my certification as L1 Animal Flow instructor.
My background enables me to coach in English, German, and Russian.
Oh, and did I mention that I also play Flamenco Guitar?
"Hi Chris. We were just at L's 5th grade graduation party, and his teacher remarked that just a couple weeks ago he started jumping a lot more "like a pogo stick" and he's been dancing along to all the songs and following along much better than before in the classroom. Since his lesson he's also been babbling a lot. You really made a big impact, and I know it builds on the past year of lessons, but it's not common we see him have such a profound effect ... Thank you so much Chris!"
DEAN, FATHER OF 11-YEAR-OLD BOY WITH AUTISM
"Where to start... she's more vocal (with new sounds), she's slept on her shunt side a few times now (never before), her back is straighter when I'm holding her, her arm range of motion is way better, her hands are open more often, rolling to her left side as well ... So pretty awesome!"
CASSI, MOTHER OF 2-YEAR-OLD GIRL WITH NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER
"Hi. I wanted to update you on G. ... This week is been a very good week. He’s been very happy. My mom says he is making some new sound that she recognizes as new sounds and he has better balance."
LISA, MOTHER OF 13-YEAR-OLD BOY WITH AUTISM
